Hola!! ¿Cómo les ha ido esta semana? Mine week has been great!! Elder
Islas and I are really just having the best time being together and
working as hard as we can!! This area is a little tougher work wise
but it's still great, this week we have had a stronger focus on
helping all the new investigators start to progress and keep their
commitments.
We started off the week doing companion exchanges for our district and
I actually ended up getting to be with "my brother", so in the mission
your trainer is considered your "father" and so after my trainer left,
he went and trained this Elder (Elder Woodmansee) and now Elder
Woodmansee is in my district! So in these terms we are"brothers"
because we were both trained by the same person. We had a good time
and did a good amount of teaching. We actually ran into a miracle in
the day we were together, he still is pretty new for the mission so he
doesn't understand Spanish at all, so it was pretty much me doing all
the teaching, BUT at the end of the day we met a girl from Florida and
were able to teach her about the Restoration! I felt like it was such
a tender mercy to be able to allow him to participate in the lesson
and understand what's going on.
Later in the week we had an appointment cancel on us and so we decided
to go visit a lady we had met last week. So we went and taught her a
little bit about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and committed to be
baptized on April 9th!!!! WOOOOOO! It was such a blessing to be able
to meet this woman, it was actually a miracle because she is on
crutches and we tried to contact her and because she was on crutches
she wasn't able to run away from us haha. But we started teaching her
and now she is very excited and has lots of time to meet with us
because she has to take time off from work(normally it's hard to meet
up with people because everyone works so much here).
Elder Islas was sick this week and eventually got pretty bad. We ended
up having to stay inside for Saturday and then after church on Sunday,
so yeah that was kind of boring but Elder Islas and I just talked for
the whole time. We also wrote a parody on my guitar and it's pretty
great! Elder Islas and I are really getting along super well, I feel
like I knew him before we meet somehow....maybe I knew him in the
pre-existence? Haha either way things are going pretty well!
I hope everyone has a great Easter week and can remember why we
celebrate Easter. That because our Savior was raised up on the 3rd day
that we can all be raised up again. Not only physically through the
resurrection, but also through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can be
strengthened through our trials and become better day by day as we
look to the Savior. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter! Love
you!!!!
Con amor,
-Elder Miller
